En 1963, il devient, pour 10 ans, le premier directeur du Th\u00e9\u00e2tre national alg\u00e9rien (TNA). Il a mont\u00e9 10 pi\u00e8ces dont \u00ab\u00a0Hassen Terro\u00a0\u00bb de Rouiched, \u00ab\u00a0Anbaca\u00a0\u00bb de R\u00e9da Houhou et \u00ab\u00a0El-Khalidoun\u00a0\u00bb de Abdelhalim Ra\u00efs ainsi que les 2 \u0153uvres de Kateb Yacine \u00ab\u00a0Le cadavre encercl\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0L\u2019homme aux sandales de caoutchouc\u00a0\u00bb. Il a cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 1965 l\u2019Institut national d\u2019art dramatique et chor\u00e9graphique (INADC\u00a0). En 1972, il d\u00e9missionne du T.N.A et occupe un poste au minist\u00e8re de l\u2019Enseignement sup\u00e9rieur. Il revient au T.N.A en 1988.
